Projects:

  1. Advisor: ELi Based Projects. Inventor of this technology.
  2. Advisor: Technology, metallurgy and engineering to produce LiOH.H2O and Li2CO3 from Spodumene. Management of FEED (Front End Engineering and Design) by Exyte Group Singapore for 70,000 tpa Spodumene processing to produce high purity ‘battery grade’ lithium hydroxide monohydrate and lithium carbonate in Kalgoorlie. A multi-billion-dollar Exyte Group, formerly known as M+W Group (a German EPCM), carried out FEED from their Singapore regional office. The task involved metallurgical testwork, engineering cost study, bankable feasibility study and project management for production of Li2SO4 from Mt Marion Spodumene Ore, and causticisation of Li2SO4 to produce lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate by carbonation of lithium hydroxide.
  3. Advisor: Lithium-ion battery recycling project. Development of technology. Testworks done at CSIRO successfully on the proposed technology.
  4. Advisor LTO (Lithium Titanate Anode Material technology. Technology successfully developed at lab and pilot plant level.
  5. Advisor Zeolite production project (Development of technology and management of pre-economic evaluation study report by Exyte Group)
  6. Inventor ELi technology: Inventor of Technology of Production of High Purity ‘Battery Grade’ Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate and High Purity ‘Battery Grade’ Lithium Carbonate from Mt Marion Spodumene ore using Spodumene Chlorination and Electrolysis Technology for a Processing Plant in Malaysia. The tasks involved, Metallurgical Testwork, PFS, DFS, Engineering Cost Study and Project Management for Production of LiCl from Mt Marion Spodumene Ore, and Electrolysis of LiCl to Produce Lithium Hydroxide and Lithium Carbonate by Carbonation of Lithium Hydroxide (ELi Technology). 1999 – 2001                                                         Marketing and Technical Advisor – Grand Battery Technologies Sdn Bhd, Malaysia

Project: Managed a research grant from Malaysian Government of USD 3 million to carry out R&D on improving performance of rechargeable alkaline manganese dioxide batteries and lithium-ion batteries. Advised CEO of the company on all the aspects of project management, R&D, operations and marketing of alkaline and lithium-ion batteries. Improved battery performance by 150% and developed marketing for these batteries in America, Australia and Europe to the value exceeding USD 10 million dollars per annum.

 

1996 – 1999                                                          Technical Manager – AgrEvo Pty Ltd, Australia                                                                                        Assignments:

  • Developed a formulation development laboratory for AgrEvo at their Kwinana facility for the development of crop protection and environmental health formulations.
  • Carry out development program for new formulation recipes suitable for Australian market for crop protection and environmental health products. Several new formulation recipes for example Hoegrass 500 EC etc were developed by me.
  • Oversee QC program and to attend customer complaints regarding chemistry or formulation problem.

Assignments: Managed a research grant from Canada Government of Canadian dollars 2 million to carry out R&D on improving performance of alkaline manganese dioxide and li ion batteries.

Achievements:

Developed improved cathode and anode recipes

to enhance battery performance by more than 150%.
